Purpose This class teaches the tasks required to use and configure PI ProcessBook, the basic Windows-based visualization tool for real-time PI data. The learning objectives (measured by short written and practical assessments) are: · To understand the function of PI ProcessBook · To understand the viewing functions/tools that allow you to visualise PI data · To understand the options available when creating a new ProcessBook · To know how to build a ProcessBook, demonstrating an ability to: Display live data trends, levels and alarms Recreate key elements of your process as graphic displays Incorporate data from external data sources More advanced use of ProcessBook is covered in the Advanced ProcessBook and DataLink course. Prerequisites This class is for users starting out with PI, who need to develop individual and/or corporate ProcessBooks. Students will need a good understanding of the Microsoft Windows environment and be able to open and close files, locate files in different directories, use menus and toolbars.
