PI DataLink Configuration (1 Day) View course dates Print page

Purpose
This class teaches the tasks required to use and configure PI DataLink, the basic Windows-based dynamic reporting tool for real-time PI data. The learning objectives (to be measured by practical assessment) are:

· To understand the function of PI DataLink
· To understand PI time and Excel time functions
· To know how to resize Excel arrays generated with DataLink functions
· To understand compressed data functions and their options
· To know how to build a DataLink report, demonstrating an understanding of:

Finding and displaying tag values and performing PI functions on them
Displaying archived data and timestamps in DataLink
Displaying trends in DataLink and being able to show when trends exceed set parameters

Prerequisites
This class is for users starting out with PI, who need to develop and configure DataLink reports. Students will need a good understanding of the Microsoft Windows environment and be able to open and close files, locate files in different directories, use menus and toolbars. Sudents will spend the entire day using Microsoft Excel and will be at a disadvantage without a working knowledge of that application. No specific knowledge of PI applications is required.
